Systems Engineering,

Program Management Services

CommTech Systems provides services for program management, and program controls.  The focus is on understanding customer project requirements,  and identifying the projects risks, restraints, and constraints, and then determining  the project plan.  For most production projects CommTech Systems follows the Earned Value Management process.

The core of this process is the ability to develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project.  That is to segment the project into elements that consist of levels of effort and material cost over time.  A key is to ensure that each element has a completion date.  As the project progresses, elements are completed, money is spent, the result is a measurement of progress toward completion.

Program Management Services

The US Department of Defense has championed the use of the Earned Value Management System, in its many forms, since the 1950s. At its most basic level this systems provides the Project Manager essential information so that they can make reasonable decisions about their projects:

 Provides ability to isolate problems.

Allows for an analysis of alternative courses of action.

Provides ability to take meaningful actions on  problems early in the process, provides for mitigation, and less costly resolutions

Helps management make decisions that are rooted in reality

Can be used to forecast project completion dates and final costs.
